The PAS Committee on Chemistry announces a call for applications for the first edition of the Alicja Dorabialska and Józef Hurwic Award for the popularization of chemistry

The PAS Committee on Chemistry, guided by concern for the development of chemical sciences and the belief that the accessible presentation of chemistry is the best way to popularize and build awareness of its key role in the modern world, established an annual, nationwide Award for outstanding achievements in the popularization of chemistry in 2025.

The main goal of the new PAS Committee on Chemistry Award is to honor individuals who are actively engaged in popularizing chemistry and/or the history of Polish chemistry.

Various popular science activities can be submitted to the competition in two categories: individual or team. The basis for applying for the Award in 2026 is an outstanding popular science activity in the period of three calendar years preceding the year of submitting the application (2023-2025).
