PTChem Representation at the Annual Chemistry Europe Meeting in Slovakia

Dear Colleagues,

The annual meeting of the Owners' Societies of Wiley Chemistry Europe journals was held in Bratislava (Slovak University of Technology) from October 21 – 23, 2026. The Polish Chemical Society was represented by Prof. Sławomira Skrzypek from the University of Lodz. The meeting was attended by representatives of Chemical Societies from Belgium, Sweden, Portugal, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Slovakia, Austria, the Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary, the Netherlands, Austria, and France.

The topics of the meeting included journal updates and market trends, the future perspectives of Open Access (OA), the situation in the publishing market, and Wiley's strategic approach to global challenges and opportunities, as well as a proposed business model for the transition of the "ChemistrySelect" journal to Open Access in 2028. Much time was devoted to the discussion following the presentation on the Chemistry Europe Hub.

The two-day deliberations concluded with the selection of the location for the Annual Meeting 2027, which will take place in Austria.
